Managing Director of Round Hill, Josef Forstmayr, said he is especially excited about the anniversary year and continuing the core traditions of the hotel for the next 60 years to come.
“After 60 years of operations, Round Hill is more extraordinary than ever,” said Mr. Forstmayr. “The hotel continues to provide a playground for people to relax, have fun and take part in the understated glamour of the property, while enjoying the essential luxury villa experience in Jamaica. The property has retained its distinctly Jamaican qualities, and I am proud to say the legacy of John Pringle still lives on here.”
Round Hill’s rich past begins with the hotel opening in 1953 spearheaded by Jamaican-born entrepreneur, John Pringle. Since its opening, Round Hill comprises 27 individually owned villas, and the 36-room Pineapple House surrounded by 30 acres of lush tropical gardens. Shareholders of the villas over the years have included Adele Astaire, Bill and Babe Paley, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hammerstein and more recently, designer Ralph Lauren.
Round Hill has always been known as an iconic year-round retreat for shareholders and a host of A-List trendsetters for 60 years. This Jamaica hotel is a pinnacle of beauty and elegance in the Caribbean, making it an ideal getaway for guests seeking a tropical experience coupled with the highest standards of hospitality.
